I saw this project while searching in google images for Christmas Crafts for Kids. I do not know the original creator of this project but they are super cute and the kids loved doing it and hopefully the parents will also enjoy it.

This was a long project for the students. We started out by talking about Logos and what they mean, how they are used, and what a good and bad logo looks like. I gave them an assignment to design a logo outside of class. When they came back I had a sheet ready to go with the name of their company-logo for the company-and a snowboard design. We executed the paper in one class and colored the snowboard (large Popsicle stick) with our logo. Finally with pipe cleaners we created our snowboard people.

Olly Moss is a designer from the UK and besides graphics he creates Pop Culture silhouettes. It was such a great idea that I had to use it for the art club. Each student choose a character that they thought could be recognizable, then they drew them and cut them out with scrapbooking paper so our colors would be vibrant, finally they glued them down and created an oval frame around their character. These became pretty popular with the 7th grade, the classes would come in after Art Club each morning to see what new characters were done the day before. The last picture is them all completed and at the local Affordable Art Show in Paducah.

The First graders just finished up these awesome looking Cold Penguins. It was a lot of work for one class period but if you prep right its not too bad. I had the students draw all the shapes first. With the Black paper we drew a large U, on the white paper we drew 2 circles and another U, and Finally we drew and out 3 triangels out of the Orange. I passed out color strips of paper that they also needed to put a simple design on. Once everything drawn out we cut out and assembled the penguin, this took some time. Finally we decorated blue paper with snowflakes with a white crayon. As my first grades girls said these are "adorable".
