cardboard scluptures

Here are a few sculptures created by the 3rd grade.  It took one day to assemble them and 2 days to paint.

  1. These are really cool! I am curious about the process. Did the students cut the cardboard? How did they attach the pieces to each other? What were the instructions? Thanks for sharing!

  2. I cut all the pieces with my paper cutter, and I made it pretty random. Then I discussed balance with them and we just used plain Elmer's glue to attach. I also showed them that we could cut some of the edges and slide pieces together that was as well. Painting was a little tricky bc they had not not break the work, but they all turned out pretty great.
